FAQ
What can I print?
Just about anything! From trophies to name tags to stands for collectibles, nearly anything can be 3D printed. That being said, due to the limitations of FDM 3D printing, fine details will likely be lost on small models like gaming miniatures. If you're looking for something with small details, we recommend looking into SLA or resin-based 3D printing, which we do not currently offer.
We do not print parts for guns or other functional weapons for any reason. No exceptions.
Where can I find files?
All over the internet! You can find files for 3D printing in a few different places. Two popular libraries for 3D files are Printables and Thingiverse. Yeggi is also an excellent resource; it's a search engine for 3D printable models, somewhat like Google. You might also look at Patreon, as there are many talented artists that release paid monthly packs of 3D printable models, such as figures or gaming terrain.
I have an idea, but I can't find a file that's exactly what I want. Can you make something?
Most likely, yes! Check out our Custom Design page to learn more.
How do you determine the cost?
We charge $3 per print hour for standard materials* with a $5 minimum. Unlike other printing services, we do not charge additionally for the filament used, which will help you save money! There may be an additional fee if your print requires a specialty filament, but that cost would be communicated ahead of time.
You'll always get a custom quote (which includes any shipping costs) for your product before committing to your purchase.
*Standard materials include PLA, PETG, and ABS. Other filament types and PLA composites (including wood-type filaments) are available at a higher cost.
How can I pay?
We accept payment via PayPal, Venmo, or credit card. When we send you your quote, we will include links to all methods.
For orders in excess of $50, we ask for a deposit equal to 25% of the quote we send you. This deposit is to offset the cost of materials and labor should a transaction not be completed.
We also offer the option to pay 100% upfront or split your purchase into 50% upfront and 50% at shipping/local delivery. Please let us know which you prefer!
Do you ship?
Yes! Local pickup in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas is available, otherwise the buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping, which will be included in the quote. We use PirateShip for the best rates and send you the tracking information.
What is your return/refund policy?
As every print is custom-made to order, we do not offer returns or refunds. However, if something is wrong with your part as a result of the actions of Harness-3D, we will replace your print for free, not including any applicable shipping costs, which will be the responsibility of the buyer. Examples of prints that are eligible for free replacement include, but are not limited to, if we printed the wrong file, it's not the size you specified, it was printed with the wrong color or material, etc.
Please note that we will do our best to communicate with you regarding size, color, materials, and other requirements prior to printing. This is your opportunity to inform us if we need to make any changes! Before you send files, please verify that everything looks just the way you want it to!
What if my print breaks?
If a print breaks, we are happy to reprint it for you at our standard printing rates. We can also offer suggestions or alternatives to prevent breakages in the future, though please be aware that we do not offer any guarantees as to the longevity or endurance of any given print given the nature of FDM printing.
There's a lot we can do to prevent a print from breaking, so please let us know how you're planning to use your print! Things that increase the likelihood of your print breaking are: 1) if it is small and detailed; 2) if it is subjected to large mechanical forces (such as holding more than a few pounds of weight); and 3) if the environment is hot and/or sunny for more than a few minutes at a time.
Please let us know ahead of time if your print will be used in any of the above-listed situations, and we'll work with you to make a print that will last!
